James H. Speicher, 92, of Dallas passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born in Carbondale on June 2, 1928 and was the youngest son of the late Leo Speicher and Elizabeth Corrigan Speicher. After the death of his father the family moved to Kingston in 1935 where he attended the Kingston Public Schools. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1947 and the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the German Occupation and Cold War from 1951-1952. After he was honorably discharged he enrolled in college and graduated from Wilkes College in 1957. He then began his professional career with Bendix Corporation in South Montrose. After Bendix closed he joined the sales force at Schott Glass Technologies in Duryea (now Schott North America, Inc.) and retired in 1990. In 1998 he married the former Barbara Myers Schwartz. Mr. Speicher lived in Kingston for 66 years before moving to the Dallas area with his wife in 2006. He was a life long member of St. Ignatius Church and held many memberships throughout his life including VFW Post 283, Kingston, Daddow American Legion Post 672, Dallas, DAV Post 102, Kingston, and the National 4th Infantry Association. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leo J. Speicher, Jr., and Frank J. Speicher. In addition to his loving wife, Barbara Speicher he is survived by stepdaughters, Pamela Uchida (Yutaka), Japan, Susan Morris (Thomas), Dallas, and Jessica Burkholder (Steven), Harrisburg. He also treasured his step-grandchildren, TSgt. Alan Morris (Kay), USAF Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Grace Hanft (Jordan), Camp Hill, PA, and Junichiro Uchida, Japan. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, Kingston followed by interment in the parish cemetery, Pringle.
